Jess Hawke is the woman behind Vogue One. After graduating in 2015 with Fashion Design BA (Hons), she moved across to costume where she has been making and altering costumes for the stage and screen for the past decade. Jess also found a passion for goldwork embroidery after attending a Hand & Lock course. After developing her skills over the past few years, she now offers one-off, custom and bespoke pieces, as well as embroidery kits and PDFs which can help you create your own beautiful goldwork embroidery at home.

Jess has worked in numerous workrooms during her time in in industry, at institutions such as Angels Costumes and The Royal Ballet and Opera (formally ROH). Productions she has worked on include Wicked (2024/25), Bridgerton, The Crown and The King’s Man. You can see some of her industry by clicking here.

Alongside her costume work, Jess also livestreams from @VogueOneFashion on Twitch, giving sewing tutorials and chatting about the importance of heritage crafts, with the occasional bit of chaotic gaming. She has also recently started Our Craft Coven, an in-person crafting group that encourages people to bring their unfinished projects to work on in a different workspace than normal, with other creatives to chat with and bounce ideas off.
